police are appealing for witnesses following the attempted abduction of a female jogger in Canberra’s Water Valley.
The victim was running south on the greenbelt near Athllon Drive in the Mawson AT at around 3.10pm yesterday.
Police said a man walking in the opposite direction grabbed her and tried to pick her up and carry her away.
After a short fight, the woman managed to escape.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or residents in the area who may have CCTV.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 170cm tall, with dark hair.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black down jacket, black shoes and a black hat.
