One dead, two fighting for life after head-on crash in Woolsthorpe, Victoria
A man has died, and two others are fighting for life following a head-on collision in regional Victoria.
Emergency services were called to Warrnambool-Caramut Road in Woolsthorpe – north of Warrnambool – after a northbound car and a southbound car collided and caught fire about 5.15pm on Wednesday.
The driver in the southbound vehicle died at the scene. He is yet to be identified.

The driver of the northbound car and the passenger from the southbound car were pulled from their cars by passers-by and have both been taken to hospital with critical injuries.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are headed to the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
The road has been closed in both directions while investigations continue.
Ten people have died on Victorian roads so far this year, compared to six at the same time last year.
